The working principle of pulse water meterPulse water meter is a type of water meter that measures water consumption by emitting pulse signals.

1、 Overview of Working Principle

The pulse water meter is mainly composed of a flow measurement mechanism and an electronic metering part. When water flows through the water meter, the flow measurement mechanism will generate corresponding mechanical movements based on the speed and flow rate of the water flow, which will trigger the electronic metering part to generate pulse signals.

2、 Flow measurement institution

Usually, a blade wheel structure is used. The water flow drives the impeller to rotate, and the rotational speed of the impeller is proportional to the flow velocity of the water flow. The rotation of the impeller is transmitted to the sensor of the electronic measuring part through mechanical devices such as gear transmission.

3、 Electronic metrology section

  1. Sensor: When the impeller rotates, the sensor detects mechanical motion and converts it into an electrical signal. Common sensors include Hall sensors, reed switches, etc. These sensors generate a pulse signal when detecting a specific position of the impeller.
  2. Counter: Pulse signals are transmitted to the counter for cumulative counting. The counter records the number of pulses to determine the water usage.
  3. Display section: It can display cumulative water consumption and other information for users to easily view.

4、 Processing of pulse signals

The pulse signal output by the pulse water meter can be connected to data acquisition devices or remote meter reading systems to achieve automatic meter reading and water management. The data acquisition equipment can accurately determine the water consumption, store and transmit data by counting and analyzing pulse signals.
